Who this phone is for — and who it isn't
We would rather lose a sale than process a return from someone who needed something else.
A good fit if
- You want a phone that is private by default without becoming a weekend project.
- You are comfortable installing your own apps and setting up your own accounts on first boot.
- You would rather carry a card for contactless payment than have Google Wallet on your phone.
- You value being able to check the device's integrity yourself instead of trusting a shop.
Look elsewhere if
- You rely on tap-to-pay from your phone. Google Wallet does not work on this operating system, and no configuration changes that.
- Your bank's app is essential and it is one of the minority that refuses to run outside the manufacturer's OS. Ask us first — we will tell you what we have actually seen.
- You want the phone pre-loaded with your accounts and data. We deliberately never sign into anything on your behalf.
- You need a device managed by an employer's mobile-device-management system.
